00.
You gave me a Polaroid camera for my 16th birthday. I decided then that I would capture this beautiful world in a way only we could see. My first picture to go on the wall was of your beautiful face.
(in a way only I could see you)
01.
I loved to sneak outside and just walk. The power I felt as my body slipped in and out of the street lamp light was amazing. At times like those being the only person in the world didnt seem so bad.
(but you should have been there with me)
02.
Rain, rain I wish youd stay. Wed spend hours lying on your bedroom floor tracing our fingertips away. Sometimes your lips would just graze mine, their ghost sending shivers down my spine.
(bent ribs and plush lips; sweet lies and llulabies)
03.
From your back porch the world seemed so big. When your lips met mine I felt like I could have lived forever. I never knew that you were the wrong drug to get addicted to. Thats just my luck.
(what Id give to have your poison again)
04.
By the time you were 19 there was just enough room for one more picture. And even though I had a billion to choose from they none felt right. My heart kept telling me to get one more of you
(it was as though you about to disappear soon)
05.
For my 19th birthday you took me to the beach. We road the ferris wheel until the ground felt wrong. At sunset we stood on the beach and you said I love you, Im giving myself to the ocean for you
(my camera snapped as the wave took you down)
06.
The final space on my wall is of you. Your face in bliss as waves stole you away. I tried to save you; diving in to claim one last kiss on your lips. And without my knowing the camera snapped again.
(I made room for one last picture)
07.
I turn 20 tomorrow and I plan on going to the beach. The farris wheel isnt there anymore but I can make believe. The ocean will take away all my memories of you. My Polaroid sinks into the sea
(theres only one memory on my wall)

But I often wondered just how deep I could
Sink my teeth into that crease on your arm
The place where all the good times,
They grow and grow.
